Looking for a new keto lunch? This Keto Club Lettuce Wrap is packed with thick slices of ham, bacon, cheese, crunchy lettuce and juicy tomatoes! This filling lunch is under 4 net carbs!
I used to think lettuce wraps were so boring. We have been a gluten-free family for a long time so naturally, lettuce wraps are an easy option for us. Turns out, I was just doing them wrong! Now we eat wraps for lunch all the time- check out this list of 30+ Easy Healthy Wrap Recipes for great ideas!
In my opinion a lettuce wrap can be just as satisfying as a nice big sandwich. As long as you dress up a lettuce wrap just like you would a sandwich the result can be amazing. Adding your favorite condiments like mayo or mustard and of course salt and pepper can really make the flavors of the vegetables pop. I pack mine in these meal prep containers to take to work!
Keto Club Lettuce Wrap Ingredients:
- Iceberg Lettuce (Romaine or Butter Lettuce work fine as well)
- Cheese (swiss, provolone, cheddar, whatever you prefer)
- Ham
- Bacon
- Tomato (thin slices of any variety works)
- Pickle (sandwich slices fit best, but any cut is fine)
- Any sandwich condiments you prefer (mustard, mayo, etc)
- Salt & Pepper
What kind of lettuce is best for lettuce wraps?
- Iceberg Lettuce: nice crunch, inexpensive but a little harder to roll
- Romaine Lettuce: some crunch, easier to roll
- Butter Lettuce: little to no crunch, but holds fillings well
In this Keto Club Lettuce Wrap I use several leaves of Iceberg lettuce for a nice crunch. You can use romaine if you prefer (it does roll easier), and it is what I used in this BLT lettuce wrap.
Butter lettuce is also a good option as it holds fillings really well, but it doesn’t have the same crunch. I really only like butter lettuce when I have a filling with a little crunch, like with a Thai chicken filling that features peanuts.
If you’re not super into lettuce but are still looking for a low-carb option, I highly recommend these Zucchini Keto Tortillas! They can be made in advance and frozen, so these are a great option for meal prepping.
How do I make Keto Club Lettuce Wraps?
These wraps require absolutely NO cooking! They come together super quickly, but you do have to bit a little careful with your wrapping if you’re using the iceberg lettuce like I did.
- Lay out a piece of wax or parchment paper.
- Lay 2-3 slices of lettuce slightly overlapping.
- Top with cheese, ham, bacon, pickles, tomato and mustard, mayo salt and pepper if desired.
- Wrap tightly and use the wax or parchment paper to help you keep the wrap secure.
What should I serve with Keto Club Lettuce Wraps?
These wraps are filling enough to cover lunch, but sometimes it’s just nice to have a side to change up the tastes and textures of your meal! Maybe you’d like this Greek Cucumber Salad or these Keto Mozzarella Sticks.
I love adding a low-carb dip like this Keto Tzatziki or Cheesy Crab and Bacon dip with some celery, cucumber, or carrots. These Broccoli Cheddar Bites are also always a hit in our house! It’s nice to have a sweet addition to your meal, too! These Keto Chocolate Sugar Cookies will be loved by chocolate fiends, and these Easy Keto Lemon Cheesecake Bars are great all year round!
If you like to meal prep your desserts, I highly recommend this Low-Carb Crock Pot Candy, these Keto Peanut Butter Fat Bombs, or this edible Keto Cookie Dough! You can make these in big batches, freeze, and then just pull out the right amount when your sweet tooth wants some attention!
