Keto Seafood Recipes

Seafood night is usually one of my favorites! Who doesn’t love an amazing grilled salmon fillet, or shrimp and grits? Going low-carb made me look harder to find keto-friendly ways to keep incorporating  my seafood favorites into my diet. Fortunately, low carb seafood options are endless, they include:

  • Crab and Lobster
  • Shrimp, Prawns, Mussels and Scallops
  • Fish: such as Salmon, Cod, Halibut, Tuna, Snapper or Mahi Mahi. 

Side Dishes for Seafood

Whether you’re looking for light appetizers for game day or hearty dinners to keep the family satisfied, this list will have something for you! If you’re looking for keto sides, I highly recommend these Cheddar Garlic Keto Biscuits (they’re a perfect Red Lobster copycat!) to serve alongside. You can check out more keto bread options here, too!

Roasted veggies (like cauliflower, radishes, or broccoli) always pair well with seafood and are quick enough for a weeknight.  If you miss crispy fries with your fish, try this Keto Fry recipe using rutabaga instead! These Green Bean Fries or Zucchini Fries could also work in a pinch.

So set aside the beef, chicken, and pork tonight. Find a great seafood recipe and pretend you’re coastal for the night!

What can I eat at Thanksgiving on keto?

There are still SO many dishes you can have while keto! You don’t have to miss out on tasty dinner rolls… We have these amazing Rosemary Garlic Keto Rolls! You can’t have the classic mashed potatoes, but you can replace those with these delicious Keto Mashed Cauliflower, packed full of garlic butter flavor! You may need to skip the honey ham, but you will LOVE this Smoked Whole Turkey!

How to make the perfect keto Thanksgiving menu:

You can easily come up with a well-rounded Thanksgiving menu full of low-carb recipes! You’ll want a great meat (like that smoked turkey linked above), then several easy, keto-friendly sides. We like to make sure there’s a bread recipe (if you’re not big on rolls, try these Three-Cheese Basil Keto Biscuits). Next, you definitely want your classics–Sausage Stuffing and Cranberry Sauce!

Green Bean Almondine is our favorite green side for all holidays… That crunch and tasty sauce can’t be beat! You could easily stop there, but feel free to add creamy mashed cauliflower or a cheesy cauliflower casserole… We’ve got a few of those below! Don’t forget to add one of the easy roast vegetables linked below to add more variety and add great nutritional value without adding a ton of carbs!

But it can be a challenging time to keep to your keto diet. But luckily, I’m here for you! With this list, I’ve rounded up my favorite Thanksgiving keto desserts that will satisfy everyone’s sweet tooth and keep you to your keto goals!

My favorite desserts for keto Thanksgiving recipes

This list has it all- peanut butter, pumpkin, caramel, fudge, cheesecake, cookies- you can it, we’ve got a recipe for it. All of these recipes are keto, gluten free and low carb, so everyone at your table can enjoy something delicious this year!

How do I make keto Thanksgiving desserts?

Keto Thanksgiving desserts use sugar-free sweeteners, so you’ll likely need some ingredients you may not have used before! Some recipes use monk fruit–A fruit from South China that is super sweet but does not impact blood sugar levels. This means you can eat monkfruit-sweetened desserts without kicking your body out of ketosis! They make confectioners, brown sugar, and granulated versions so you can substitute them in recipes that normally call for powdered, brown, or granulated sugars.

Some other recipes use Swerve which is a sugar substitute brand that uses erythritol and oligosaccharides. It’s a zero-calorie sweetener that doesn’t impact blood sugar levels or insulin, making it a great option for people on keto, low-carb, or sugar-free diets. Just like monkfruit, there are confectioners, brown sugar, and granulated versions for substituting.

Whether you’re looking for seasonal favorites (like strawberry or pumpkin) or little no bake low-carb cheesecake bites, you’ll find something for you here. We’ve got chocolate, plain, even cheesecake stuffed inside of strawberries! So just keep scrolling and start bookmarking your next best dessert!

Can I eat cheesecake on a keto diet?

Absolutely… with some modifications. When cheesecake is made with a keto-friendly sugar substitute, it is an excellent source of fat that is low in carbs! All of the recipes included in this roundup use substitutes like Swerve or Monkfruit.  This helps keep our carbs low while still allowing us to enjoy food we love!

How many carbs are in a low-carb cheesecake?

It all depends on which keto sugar substitute you use, the size of your serving, and the added ingredients you choose! Of the cheesecakes on my list, they range from 3.5-5 net carbs per slice. Do you like keto chocolate cheesecake? This Keto Chocolate Cheesecake Recipe has under 3 net carbs for each mini cake!

Keto cheesecake bars have a wide range (depending on the ingredients), but the ones on this list are anywhere between 2.1 – 6 net carbs per slice. Some of the little cheesecake bites have as little as 0.8 net carbs! 

Can you freeze cheesecake?

Yes, you can! To prevent frostbite, it’s best to tightly wrap the cheesecake (either whole or individual slices) at least twice in plastic, then store in a plastic bag. If you can use a vacuum sealer, it stays fresh longer!

Once frozen, you will likely want to eat your cheesecake within 1-2 months. Cream cheese can have a strange texture after being frozen much longer than a month, so it’s best to get it all eaten before that!

These freezer recommendations also apply to cheesecake bars and chocolate-dipped keto bites. I wouldn’t recommend freezing cheesecake-stuffed fruit (like these strawberries) because the texture will simply not hold up.
